Constant Contact Podcast

John Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing maintains a popular blog with topics related to small business advancement. On 8/20 he released a 20 minute podcast interview with Eric Groves, Senior VP of Sales and Development of Constant Contact. For the past couple of months we’ve been talking about building your customer base through Constant Contact’s email marketing features. (See our June 2007 and July 2007 SiteBeats.) In the podcast, Groves offers an insider’s view of the power of “communications services,” with a look at Constant Contact’s email newsletter features and new Listen Up! survey tool.

Visit http://www.ducttapemarketing.com/podcast.php to hear the podcast. It’s super easy, just click the “Marketing Podcast with Eric Groves” link to listen, or right click and Save As to download. Apologies in advance for his corny Duct Tape Marketing theme song!

  1. Interesting…though I am not sure a podcast would have any impact for what I am attempting to accomplish with my site. However, I am about to embark on what I hope may be considered a related tangent.

The web is a visual medium. The monstrous popularity of YouTube helps illustrate this. What I really would love to add is a video section to my site. The Tennis Warehouse website has a video blog they call a vlog. It features new products each week. Here’s a sample. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/vlogpage.html?ccode=VLOG025

It would be very interesting if such a tool could be used along with or integrated into my web site. While blogs are being explored, I’d also suggest that Vlogs also be explored because of their sales potential.

  2. Thanks for the excellent comment John. You’re right, the web is increasingly a visual medium, and you have noticed that your competitor has already picked up on that. This is definitely something to pay attention to.

  3. Update: Visit our October 2006 SiteBeat at http://www.mightymerchant.com/home/mm5/cpage/193/0?stpl=sitenews for tips on integrating streaming video into your site. A video clip or product demonstration would be a great addition to any site.
